The Chepang of Nepal

The Chepang of Nepal, numbering approximately 69,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Tibeto-Burman people of central Nepal's Mahabharat range, traditionally semi-nomadic hunters whose name combines che, meaning dog, and pang, meaning arrow, who are reclaiming their original identity after King Birendra renamed them Praja in 1977. They mostly adhere to Folk Hinduism and Chepang is their primary language.
