They are a small, little‑known ethnolinguistic people group living in western Yunnan Province, near China’s borders with Myanmar (Burma). They are an Indigenous people in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Mang and their primary religion is Animism.
