They are an Indigenous Tibeto-Burmese ethnic group in China, part of the broader Nosu (Nuosu/Yi) people. They primarily live in the Xiaoliangshan ("Lesser Cool Mountains") region of southwestern China, mainly in Sichuan Province. They are an Indigenous people in the Nosu people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Nuosu and their primary religion is Chinese Folk Religion.
