The Shawiya of Algeria

The Shawiya of Algeria, numbering approximately 2,485,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Berber ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Aurès Plateau region of the Atlas Mountains of northeastern Algeria and can also be known as Chaouia. They are an Indigenous people, in the Amazigh-Shawiya people cluster of the Arab World affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Tachawit.
