They are a Sunni Muslim ethnic group indigenous to the mountains of Wadai region in eastern Chad They are an Indigenous people, in the Ouaddai-Fur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Maba (Chad).
