They are a diaspora community of Imazighen (plural of Amazigh), a people indigenous to the Middle and east High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They are also known as Imazighen, Berber, Middle Atlas Berber. They are an Diaspora people in the Amazigh-Shilha people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamazight, Central Atlas and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
