The Banda-Banda of Central African Republic, numbering approximately 196,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a stateless Adamawa-Ubangi-speaking people whose ancestors fled slave raiders from the north and east to settle in the Central African Republic during the nineteenth century, traditionally selecting war chiefs only in times of crisis They are an Indigenous people, with Banda (Ubangi Central) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Adamawa-Ubangi people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Banda-Banda is their primary language.
