They are an ethnic community belonging to the Ga-Dagbe group of Kwa peoples indigenous to the Greater Accra region of Ghana. They are an Indigenous people, in the Guinean people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Ga.
