They are a central Sudanic ethnolinguistic people group indigenous to the Djugu territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ituri province They are an Indigenous people, in the Sudanic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Lendu.
