They are an Indigenous people of the northwestern Amazon, primarily living along the Vaupés River basin in Colombia, near the borders with Brazil and Venezuela. They are an Indigenous people, in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Cubeo.
