The Tabaru of Indonesia, numbering approximately 22,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a small non-Austronesian people of interior West Halmahera in North Maluku, Indonesia, historically subordinate to the larger neighboring Tobelo, farming nutmeg, clove and coconut in the legacy of the Moluccas' spice trade They are an Indigenous people, with Tabaru as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Maluku-Northern people cluster of the Malay Peoples. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Tabaru is their primary language.
