The Taurap of Indonesia

The Taurap of Indonesia, numbering approximately 350 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a small Papuan ethnolinguistic community of the middle Mamberamo River region in Papua, Indonesia. Also known as the Burmeso people, they maintain a distinct identity rooted in riverine settlements, customary lands, and Mamberamo traditions They are an Indigenous people, with Taurap as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the New Guinea people cluster of the Pacific Islander Peoples. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Burmeso is their primary language.
