They are a linguistic subgroup of the larger Pashayi ethnic group of northeastern Afghanistan. They are an Indigenous people, in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Pashai, Northeast.
