They are an ethnolinguistic community of Kyrgyzstan; a dialect subgroup of Kalmyk-Oirat (xal) They are an Diaspora people, in the Mongolian people cluster of the East Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Buddhism - Tibetan. They primarily speak Kalmyk-Oirat.
