They are an ethnolinguistic group indigenous to the Mexican state of Oaxaca and can also be known as Tuxtepec, Tuxtepec; Chiltepec, Chiltepec, Tuxtepec, Chiltepec. They are an Indigenous people, in the Zapotec people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Folk Catholicism. They primarily speak Spanish.
