The Kallar of India

The Kallar of India, numbering approximately 1,545,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a dominant warrior community of Tamil Nadu, also called Mukkulathor. Historically, the Kallar were organized into clans across many territorial subgroups. Once feudal soldiers, they are now chiefly settled cultivators and civil servants. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
