The Pano of India

The Pano of India, numbering approximately 1,750,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a tea-garden community of upper Assam also called Pantanti, tracing migration from Bihar, Maharashtra, and Odisha. Tea-garden labor remains their main livelihood, supplemented by agriculture. They are an Indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Ethnoreligion.
