The Memon of India

The Memon of India, numbering approximately 761,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a trading community of Gujarat and Karnataka descended from the Lohana of Sindh who converted to Islam in the fifteenth century. Petty business remains their principal occupation. They are an Indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
