The Badi of India

The Badi of India, numbering approximately 16,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a small Hindu community of north‑central India, concentrated mainly in Uttar Pradesh. Historically associated with marginal artisan and service occupations and sometimes nomadic livelihoods, they are today largely agricultural or construction laborers They are an Indigenous people, with Badi / Badhi (SC) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Hindi.
