The Dhor of India

The Dhor of India, numbering approximately 176,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat whose name derives from dhor, meaning cattle, traditionally engaged in tanning cattle hide purchased untanned and sold on to leather workers. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
