The Bhattra (Punjabi) of India, numbering approximately 79,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Sikh community concentrated in Chandigarh, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana. The Bhattra are believed to be the descendants of Mandhomal, a Brahman rishi (saint) of Sri Lanka whose followers converted to Sikhism and followed Guru Nanak back to India and can also be known as Bhatra. They are an Indigenous people, in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Sikhism. They primarily speak Punjabi, Eastern.
