The Chadar of India

The Chadar of India, numbering approximately 145,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of Madhya Pradesh whose name derives from the Sanskrit chirkar, meaning weaver, traditionally engaged in weaving and village watchman service. The Chadar are Hindus who claim Rajput descent and worship Shakti in various They are an Indigenous people, with Chadar as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Bundeli.
