The Belama of India, numbering approximately 38,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a little-known Odia-speaking agricultural community of Odisha, traditionally landholding cultivators organized into two exogamous clans, Kounchhasa and Nageswar. They are Hindus who worship Durga and Kali along with tutelary deities They are an Indigenous people, with Belema as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Odia.
