The Vetan of India

The Vetan of India, numbering approximately 39,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram districts, Kerala, also called Malai Vedan, their name recalling hunters. Government and private service now supplement this traditional occupation. They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
