The Karenga of India

The Karenga of India, numbering approximately 52,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of Midnapur district in West Bengal traditionally engaged in carpentry and the castration of goats and bullocks. Many are now cultivators or agricultural laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Bengali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bengali and their primary religion is Hinduism.
