They are a scheduled caste inhabiting the coastal region of Uttar Kannad district in the Kumta, Ankola and Karwar taluks of Karnataka and can also be known as Agri, Sisodia Rajput, Kharwal, Mith Agri, Noongar. They are an Indigenous people, in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism - Folk. They primarily speak Marathi.
