They are an Arab Bedouin pastoralist group whose modern communities are concentrated mainly in Chad, with deep historical roots in Libya’s Fezzan region and the central SaharaSoliman, Awlad Sulayman They are an Indigenous people, in the Arab, Sudan people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Hassaniyya.
