They are a priestly community of India and can also be known as Sanketi Brahman, Smata Brahman, Srivaishnava Brahman, Solia Brahman, Viswa Brahman. They are an Indigenous people, in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Tamil.
