They are an ethnolinguistic community of Mexico and can also be known as Popoloca, San Luís Temalacayuca, Popoloca, San Marcos Tlalcoyalco, San Luís Temalacayuca; Popoloca, Popoloca, San Marcos Tlalcoyalco; Popoloca, Coyotepec. They are an Indigenous people, in the Zapotec people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Folk Catholicism. They primarily speak Spanish.
