The Janughanta of India, numbering approximately 2,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a landless mendicant community of Odisha whose name comes from the bell (ghanta) tied to the knee (janu) while seeking alms. They claim descent from the sage-warrior Parashuram and are Hindu. They are an Indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Hinduism.
