The Tharua of India

The Tharua of India, numbering approximately 650 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a scheduled Hindu tribe of India, inhabiting northern Odisha, especially the Balasore district. Their traditional occupation is pottery, stone-cutting and engraving, but in recent decades they have taken up cultivation. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Hinduism.
