The Sofi of India

The Sofi of India, numbering approximately 49,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Muslim community of the Kashmir valley also called Kandur, descended from a Brahmin convert to Islam, traditionally bakers. This trade remains their principal occupation, alongside milk-selling and government or private service. They are an Indigenous people in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kashmiri and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
