They are an ethnolinguistic community of Mexico and can also be known as Tlacoapa, Malinaltepec; Tlapanec, Eastern Tlapanec, Mè’phàà Mañuwìín, Tlapanec, Me’phaa, Acatepec, Me’pa, Acatepec; Tlapanec, Malinaltepec, Me’pa Wí’ìn, Tlapanec, Tlapanec, Western Tlapanec, Mi’phàà Minuíí Mi’pa. They are an Diaspora people, in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin-Caribbean Americans affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Roman Catholicism. They primarily speak Me’phaa, Acatepec.
