The Hindu Santarash of India

The Hindu Santarash of India, numbering approximately 4,600 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a stone-working community of Madhubani, Darbhanga, and other districts in Bihar, their name meaning one who shapes stone. Making hand-grinders and pestles from stone remains their principal occupation, and they are Hindu. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Maithili is their primary language.
