They are a small endogamous Hindu community of South India, found mainly among Malayali‑speaking populations of Kerala. They are an Indigenous people, in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Malayalam.
