The Candala of India, numbering approximately 7,100 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as an Odia-speaking Scheduled Caste community of Koraput district in Odisha, traditionally settled cultivators and weavers organized into exogamous clans. They are also known as Chandal, and many now work as agricultural laborers They are an Indigenous people, with Chandala / Candala as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Odia.
