The Bhakta of India

The Bhakta of India, numbering approximately 2,700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small Bengali-speaking Hindu cultivating community of West Bengal, concentrated in west Midnapore, who trace their descent from seven upcountry mendicants. They are also known as Bhokta and worship Shiva, Sitala and other deities. They are an Indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bengali and their primary religion is Hinduism.
