The Koirao of India

The Koirao of India, numbering approximately 1,800 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of the Sadar Hills in Senapati district, Manipur, also called Thangal, tracing origin to a place called Maikel. Shifting and wet-rice cultivation remain their main occupation, and most have embraced Christianity. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Boro (India) and their primary religion is Protestantism.
