Overview: The Igbo, also known as Ibo, are one of the three dominant ethnic groups of Nigeria, concentrated in the southeastern states of Anambra and Imo. They are also found across the border in southern Cameroon. The Igbo have inhabited their homeland in Nigeria for more than a thousand years. Several related subgroups are recognized as distinct people groups within the Igbo people cluster.
